Her father asks her not to fast on some voluntary days

The first question of Fatwa No. ( 10935 )
Q 1: I am a woman aged 29, I care for my parents, I have been teaching for 8 years, and I support my father and mother. I have a brother and 3 married sisters in a country neighboring mine, so I am the only one in Bahrain with my father, and I am closest to their hearts because of my proximity to them and my care for them,
and they ask for nothing but my safety. I am always in conflict with my father because of my advice to him regarding religion, but he does not get angry, except that he only says to me: You are a Wahhabi because of your views. My father used to prevent me from two things, and I did not obey his words, which are: He used to say to me: Do not fast on Monday and Thursday, and fast only on Thursday or Monday, one day per week? Because you have withered and your body is weak. I can bear fasting, and I say to him: Leave what is between me and my Lord.
A 1: If the situation is as you described, you are not undutiful to your father by disobeying him in his prohibition of fasting on both Monday and Thursday; because your fasting on these two days is obedience, as long as you are able to do so, and there is no obedience to a created being in his prohibition of obedience to Allah. Then, it appears from his condition that he wants to be gentle with you, not to compel you to leave fasting. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
