Q: I married a woman from among my relatives two years ago. Recently, my mother, who is still alive, informed me that she had previously breastfed the brother of my wife's father, who is the next in birth order after him, while she was breastfeeding me . The duration of the breastfeeding ranged between two and three days continuously, as his mother was ill at the time. Therefore, I ask your Eminence to issue a ruling on this matter and whether anything prevents my marriage to that woman due to that breastfeeding. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with the best reward, and may He guide your steps on the path of goodness. Peace be upon you.
A: If the matter is as described, it is permissible for you to continue your marriage to the woman mentioned, and the breastfeeding of your wife's father's brother has no effect on this marriage.
