The first question of Fatwa No. ( 8141 )
Q1: If a woman in her waiting period reaches three months and has not menstruated, is she permitted to marry upon the completion of the months, given that she is young, or is menstruation required?
A1: The waiting period for a pregnant woman is the delivery of her child, whether she is divorced or her husband has died. The waiting period for a non-pregnant woman is four months and ten days if her husband has died. As for a woman divorced after consummation, her waiting period is three menstrual cycles if she is of the age of menstruation. If she does not menstruate due to her youth or her hopelessness of menstruation, her waiting period is three months. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
