The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18068 )
Q1: I read a fatwa declaring the sect the Tijaniyyah to be disbelievers and misguided. I ask for clarification of the reasons upon which this ruling is based?
A1: The Tijaniyyah method is a denounced method that does not conform to the guidance of Islam, because of the religious innovations, abominations, and acts of associating partners with Allah contained in it, which take whoever believes in them out of the religion of Islam. Among these are: 1- The exaggeration regarding Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Tijani , the founder of the method, and the exaggeration of his followers regarding him, to the extent that they attributed to him the characteristics of the message, and even the attributes of lordship and divinity, and his followers followed him in this. 2- His belief in annihilation and the unity of existence, and his claim of this for himself, and even his claim that he is at the highest peak of that, and his followers believed him in this and held it as a belief. 3- His explicit statement that the aid flows from Allah to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first, then flows from him to the prophets, then flows from the prophets to him, and then from him it spreads to all creation from Adam to the blowing of the Trumpet, and his followers believe in this and hold it as a belief.
4- His aggression against Allah and against every close friend of Allah, and his bad conduct toward them, as he says: "My foot is on the neck of every close friend of Allah." 5- His false claim that he knows the unseen and what the breasts conceal, and that he turns hearts, and the belief of his followers in this, counting it among his virtues and miracles. 6- His transgression against the verses of Allah and distorting them from their places by what he claims is symbolic interpretation. 7- His claim that every Tijani enters Paradise without reckoning or punishment, no matter what sins he commits. These are some of the ideas of the Tijaniyyah, summarized from their most extensive and most reliable books in the view of their scholars, such as the book: (Jawahir al-Ma'ani) by Ali Harazim , and the book: (Rimah Hizb al-Rahim) by 'Umar ibn Sa'id al-Futi . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
