Prayer Behind the Tijaniyyah

Q: We are currently facing a problem in Cameroon regarding praying behind an innovator (of the Tijaniyyah method) ; because it is the only method we have had for a long time, and this issue has led to division and fragmentation among the ranks of the da'wah workers in this country; since most of them consider it not permissible to pray behind them, relying on Fatwa No. 2089 from the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta, and we do not know if the fatwa is general or specific. Therefore, we present to you the reality of the people in the country so that you may issue a fatwa suitable for our reality to settle the fitnah. First: People have lived for 40 years knowing nothing but this method, and that it is the correct Islam brought by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), due to the absence of the Salafi da'wah and Salafis, so when it appeared, it was something new or a bid'ah. Second: These ignorant people do not understand the Arabic language, and Islam cannot be understood except through it, since some of them say: Allahu Akbar, without knowing the meaning, or even the meaning of the opening of the Book except for a little,
and they are the imams of the mosques. Third: There is no relationship between them and the scholars of the Ummah and the competent da'wah workers. Fourth: They are in a state of disbelief and there are no divine scholars, so the truth is very far from them. Fifth: Those whom Allah has guided to understand this Salafi da'wah are all young people, and the fathers do not trust their knowledge, but rather consider them ignorant people who must be taught, but unfortunately, because of Fatwa No. 2089, our young people have declared them disbelievers, and that it is not permissible to pray behind them, and this leads to many problems, and it results in the rejection of the truth they possess. We ask your Eminence to inform us, taking into account the rules and regulations of takfir, and to pay attention to this country so that the ranks of the da'wah workers are united, and the da'wah takes its correct course, and we learn how to deal with this method or others. And may peace and the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you.
A : The fatwas issued by us regarding the invalidity of prayer behind the Tijaniyyah are the truth in accordance with the rules of the Shari'ah, and you must call to Allah with insight and knowledge, and the da'wah must be with wisdom and good admonition,
as Allah the Exalted said:[Yusuf 12:108], and He the Exalted said: [An-Nahl 16:125]. And you must clarify the correct 'aqidah to those you call to Allah, and you should begin with the tawhid of worship, explaining it with evidence from the Book and the Sunnah. And the issue of takfir you should postpone until the correct 'aqidah is firmly established in the hearts of those you call to Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

ادْعُ إِلَى سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ
