The Tijaniyyah Method and the Innovations and Misguidance in It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a letter from the questioner (S. A. 'A.) from Sudan, from the Abu Kaw' region. The questioner says in her letter: We have a group who are followers of the Tijaniyyah method. They gather every Friday and every Monday and remember Allah with this dhikr: "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah). And at the end, they say: "Allah, Allah..." in a loud voice. I do not know what the ruling of the Shari'ah is on their action?
Answer: The Tijaniyyah method is an innovated method and an invalid method, and it contains types of disbelief. It is not permissible to follow it; rather, it is obligatory to abandon it. We advise those who adhere to it to leave it and to commit to the method of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the method of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the method upon which the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) proceeded and received it from their Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Imams of Islam, such as Malik, al-Shafi'i, Abu Hanifah, Ahmad, al-Awza'i, Ishaq ibn Rahawayh, al-Thawri, and others from the people of knowledge, received it and proceeded upon it. The people of the Sunnah and the community also proceeded upon it. It is the oneness of Allah and worshipping Him, establishing the prayer, paying the zakah, fasting Ramadan, performing Hajj to the House, obeying the commands that came from the Chosen One (peace and blessings be upon him), and leaving the prohibitions. This is the method that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought.
As for the Sufi methods, it is obligatory to abandon them except for what agrees with the Shari'ah. What is in them that agrees with the Shari'ah is taken, because the Shari'ah brought it. As for what the Sufis innovated, it is abandoned. Among that is their gathering to say: "Allah, Allah..." or: "He, He..." This is all religious innovation, with no basis. What is prescribed is to say: "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah), or "Subhan Allah" (Glory be to Allah), "Alhamdulillah" (Praise be to Allah), "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah), and "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest). As for breaking it up: "He, He... Allah, Allah..." This is religious innovation with no basis. I advise you, O questioner! Not to attend their gatherings and not to be one of them, and to commit to the Muhammadan method that came from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which is the known dhikr: "Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar," in the house, in the mosque, on the road, in the kitchen, in any place. One remembers Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He)... in his work he says: "La ilaha illa Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lah al-mulk wa lah al-hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir" (There is no god but Allah alone, having no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things competent), "Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illa Allah, Allahu Akbar," and "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power and no strength except with Allah), "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi, Subhan Allah al-Azim" (Glory be to Allah and by His praise, Glory be to Allah the Magnificent), and so on. It has no limited limit, but rather it is done as it came from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One does not say: "Allah, Allah..." or "He, He..."! Or they gather to dance and beat drums. All of this is what is wrong. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
For the sister questioner, there are remaining questions which we promise to present, if Allah wills, in a future session.
