Fatwa No. ( 18108 )
Q: I read in the book (Dialogue with the Jinn) by Usamah al-Karam, and I wanted to know the authenticity of what is on page (899), which is: (A Message to Torment the Jinn). The story of this message is that the noble Companion Abu Dujana said: “I complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, while I was lying in my bed, I heard in my house a creaking like the creaking of a millstone, a buzzing like the buzzing of bees, and a flash like the flash of lightning. I raised my head in fear and terror, and there was a black shadow descending, rising and lengthening in the courtyard of my house. I reached out to it and touched its skin, and its skin was like the skin of a hedgehog. It threw something like sparks of fire in my face, and I thought it had burned me and burned my house. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (A resident of a bad house, O Abu Dujana, and by the Ka'bah, and you are being harmed, O Abu Dujana). Then he said: (Bring me ink and paper). They brought them and handed them to Ali ibn Abi Talib, and he said: (Write, O Abu al-Hasan). He said: What should I write? He said: (Write: In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. This is a letter from Muhammad, the Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds, to whoever enters the house of the residents and visitors. As for what follows: We have strength in the truth for us and for you. If you are a passionate lover, or a sinner who transgresses, or one who claims a truth that is false, this is the Book of Allah that speaks the truth to us and to you. We used to copy what you used to do, and our messengers write what you conceal. Leave the owner of this letter alone, and go to the worshippers of idols, and to those who claim that there is another god besides Allah. There is no god but He, every thing is perishing except His Face, to Him belongs the judgment and to Him you will be returned. You will be overcome. Ha, you will not be victorious. Ha, 'Ayn, Sa, Qaf. The enemies of Allah are scattered, and the proof of Allah has been conveyed, and there is no power and no strength except by Allah. He will suffice you against them, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing). Abu Dujana said:
So I rolled it up and carried it to my house, and I placed it under my head, and I spent my night, and I did not wake up except to the screaming of a screamer saying: O Abu Dujana: The words have burned us, so by the right of your companion, remove this book from us, and there will be no return to your house. And another said: Nor in your harm, nor in your neighborhood, nor in a place where this book is. Abu Dujana said: I said: No, by the right of my companion, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I will not remove it until I seek the permission of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Dujana said: My night was long for me because of what I heard of the moaning, screaming, and crying of the jinn, until I became morning, so I prayed the Fajr prayer with the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and I informed him of what I heard from the jinn and what I said to them. He said to me: (O Abu Dujana: Remove it from the people, and by Him who sent me with the truth as a prophet, they indeed find the pain of the punishment until the Day of Resurrection). It was narrated by al-Bayhaqi in (Da'ail
the Prophethood) in 7/120, and likewise it was narrated byal-Suyuti. Is this letter authentic? May Allah reward you with good

A: This story is not authentic, and its chain of narration is broken, and most of its narrators are unknown. The one who narrated it is Musa al-Ansari, and there is no one among the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) who is called by this name. Some of the scholars have judged it to be fabricated, among them al-Dhahabi (may Allah have mercy on him). He said in (al-Sirah) 1/245: (The amulet of Abu Dujana is not authentic, I do not know who fabricated it). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
