Q3: We know that the best of clothing is white, as evidenced by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Jami` at-Tirmidhi 994Hasan (Darussalam) , so which color follows white in virtue, then which... then which? And which color is the worst of clothing?
A3: It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that white clothing is preferred over other colors, but nothing is established regarding the preference of other colors. It is prescribed for the Muslim to wear what is available to him, without making it difficult for himself, and this was the way of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while avoiding wearing clothes of fame or those that imitate women or disbelievers, or that contradict the evidence of the Shari'ah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
