Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : It is said that there is a mosque in the city of Kufa which all the prophets and messengers (peace be upon them) have visited, and each prophet has a prayer niche in it with a supplication written on the niche. People visit this mosque in large numbers, move between its niches, and make supplication at each niche with the supplication written on it, for the number of rak'ahs the visitor intends to pray. Is this true, and is visiting this mosque for this purpose permissible or not?

The Shaykh : This is definitely invalid.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : The master of the prophets and messengers, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), did not visit it, without doubt. Likewise, the prophets before him could not have visited it, because if by "prophets" one means those who were not sent as messengers, they number twenty-four thousand; and if one means the messengers, they number three hundred and a few more. It is not possible that these people visited this mosque. Rather, this is a fabrication intended to consume wealth by falsehood and to turn people away from the path of Allah.
Going to this mosque with this intention is forbidden and not permissible. It is obligatory for Muslims to verify these matters and to advise those who practice exalting and respecting them. There are no mosques to which one travels except three.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : The Sacred Mosque, the Prophet's Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him), and al-Aqsa Mosque. As for other shrines or mosques, it is not permissible to travel to them under any circumstances. Moreover, most of these matters are lies and fabrications, and the sensible believer knows that this is fabrication at first glance. Yes.
