The third question of Fatwa No. ( 10886 )
Q 3: I used to work in the army (the armed forces), and I took a wool coat that had been issued to me from one of the units, then I sent it to my father in 1393 AH, knowing that it is from consumable supplies , but I took it without permission from the person in charge of the supplies. Am I required to do anything? I ask your eminence to guide me to what is good
A 3: It is obligatory for you to return a similar coat to the one you took, or its value, to
the entity from which you took it, and if you are unable to do so, give it in charity to a poor person. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
