Q 4: I am a resident of the northern region of the Kingdom , and the family and friends go to ( Mada'in Saleh ) , for the purpose of recreation and viewing the ruins there. Is this permissible?
A 4 : If the matter is as mentioned, it is not permissible for them to do so, and it is not permissible for you to go with them. They may not enter the dwellings of those who were punished unless they are weeping, lest they be afflicted with what afflicted them. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he passed by Mada'in Saleh , he said to his companions:Sahih al-Bukhari 4420 .
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
