Q4: During the summer school break, we feel a great void,
and we do not want to waste it in what does not please Allah. Rather, we join summer camps. The camps differ according to those who run them. In Jeddah , we have a summer camp that is considered one of the largest and most luxurious summer camps in two respects: First, those who run it are students of knowledge and righteous people, whom we consider to be so, though we do not declare them pure before Allah. Second, the facilities our camp possesses are not usually available in the other camps. The summer camp operates daily, except on Thursdays and Fridays, throughout the duration of the camp. We learn to memorize the words of Allah and the hadith of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and we hold religious lectures, seminars, and lessons, in addition to various cultural, social, and sports activities, as well as academic and practical courses and recreational trips. The atmosphere is one of faith, conducive to obedience and far from sin. Indeed, we feel an increase in faith and distance from the helpers of Satan. What is your opinion, may Allah protect you, given the situation as we mentioned above, without adding to it? Do you advise us to continue in the aforementioned summer camp? We ask for an answer and a thorough treatment of the topic. May Allah reward you and bless you.
A4 : There is nothing wrong with participating in a summer camp from which you benefit and in which you make good use of your time, provided that those who run it are people of good and that there is nothing in it of what is forbidden. We ask Allah to guide everyone to what pleases Him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
