Boycotting one's brother for the sake of the da'wah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 15931 )
Q1: Is it permissible for a person to boycott his brother for the sake of the da'wah ? What is your response to him?
A1 : It is not permissible for a Muslim to boycott his brother for more than three days if the boycott is for the sake of worldly matters; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
It is not allowable for a Muslim to keep apart from his brother for more than three daysلا يحل لمسلم أن يهجر أخاه فوق ثلاث
Sunan Abi Dawud 4914Sahih (Al-Albani)
. However, if it is for the sake of the religion, such as if he is committing a clear sin or is an innovator and advice does not benefit him, then he should be boycotted if that serves as a deterrent for him and there is hope that he will repent. But if there is no deterrent effect in that, and there is a fear that his evil will increase, then he should not be boycotted, but rather one should continue advising him, perhaps
Allah will guide him. Thus, in this case, the boycott must take into account the benefit and the harm. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
