Is it a sin to boycott a brother for more than three nights?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If one quarrels with his brother for more than three nights, is he a sinner?

The Shaykh : This is a mistake. The correct question is: Who boycotts? I say:
It is not allowable for a Muslim to keep apart from his brother for more than three days لا يحل لمسلم أن يهجر أخاه فوق ثلاث
Sunan Abi Dawud 4914Sahih (Al-Albani)
as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,
when they meet, one of them turns his face away from the other, and the other turns his face from the former, and the better of the two will be the one who greets the other first. يلتقيان فيعرض هذا ويعرض هذا ، وخيرهما الذي يبدأ بالسلام
Sahih al-Bukhari 6077
but if a person is in sin, and there is a benefit in boycotting him, then we boycott him until he abandons this sin.
However, if there is no benefit in boycotting him, let him greet him, even if he is a sinner, because sins do not take one out of faith, so he falls under the prohibition of boycotting a believer for more than three days.
