Visiting her aunt who does not pray
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa number ( 19133 )
Q3: I have two aunts who live together, as they are both unmarried, and I am dutiful to them and maintain ties with them, and they love me very much. However, the problem is that my elder aunt does not pray, even though she fasts and remembers Allah . I told her that prayer is the criterion between disbelief and faith, and I informed her of the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the rulings of the scholars regarding declaring a disbeliever of one who abandons it, and that fasting without prayer is not accepted because faith is a condition for the one who fasts, and the one who abandons prayer is not a believer. But she did not comply, so I threatened her that I would boycott her and not enter her house and not eat any food from her, but she lives with my younger aunt, who prays, and if I boycott her and do not enter the house, I will have cut off the family ties of my younger aunt. So I ask your eminence, first: to pray for my aunt that Allah guide her to prayer, as I love her very much, and second: to clarify to me what I should do in this problem? And may Allah reward you with good.
A 3: Continue your visits to your aunt who maintains the prayers, while advising your other aunt to maintain them; perhaps Allah will guide her.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
