Q2: How is a sorcerer identified?
A2 : A sorcerer is one who ties knots and blows on them, or performs ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation) with shirk-based incantations using words whose meaning is unknown, or words that include the names of some of the Shayatin (Satan) and jinn. The sorcerer, through his work, separates a man from his wife, and may even cause the death of the one he has bewitched. Whoever possesses any of these characteristics is among the sorcerers from whom one must stay away, warn people, and whom the authorities must punish with the Shari'ah punishment. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
