Feeding chickens with ground meat, including pork

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 3628 )
Q: If chickens are fed various foods, and among these foods are flour, the meat of dead animals, and pork , is
this chicken, which is fed this meat, lawful or forbidden, and if it is forbidden, what is the ruling on its eggs?

A : If the situation is as described regarding the feeding, there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding eating its meat and eggs. Malik and a group of scholars said that eating its meat and eggs is permissible; because impure foods become pure through their transformation into meat and eggs. A group of scholars, including al-Thawri and al-Shafi'i and Ahmad , held that eating it, eating its eggs, and drinking its milk is forbidden, unless it is fed pure food for three days or more thereafter, in which case eating it, its eggs, and drinking its milk becomes permissible. It was also said: if most of its feed is impure, it is a *jilalah*, and it is not to be eaten; and if most of its feed is pure, it may be eaten. A group of scholars held that it is forbidden; based on what was narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud and al-Nasa'i and al-Tirmidhi
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (ra): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) also said, "It (i.e., Makkah's) thorny bushes should not be uprooted and its game should not be chased, and picking up its fallen things is illegal except by him who makes public announcement about it, and its grass should not be cut." 'Abbas said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Except Idhkhir (a kind of grass)." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Except Idhkhir."عن ابن عباس - رضي الله عنهما -، أن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - نهى عن شرب لبن الجلالة
Sahih al-Bukhari 2433
, and it was graded authentic by al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Daqiq al-Eid , and based on what was narrated by Abu Dawud and al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah
Narrated Ibn 'Umar (RA): Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had agreed with the people of Khaibar to give (to the Muslim authority) half what it produced of fruits or crops. [Agreed upon].عن ابن عمر - رضي الله عنهما -، أن رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - نهى عن أكل الجلالة وألبانها
Bulugh al-Maram 7:156
. *Jilalah* is: that which eats excrement and other impurities. The stronger opinion is the detailed one, which is the second one mentioned above.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
