The location of cauterization on the human body

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second and third questions of Fatwa No. ( 1445 )
Q2: Is it permissible to cauterize a patient with fire on his head or part of his body?
A2 : It is permissible to cauterize a patient with fire for his treatment if he needs it, and it is hoped that Allah will benefit him through it; because it is established from Jabir ibn 'Abdullah that he said:
Jabir reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sent a phystian to Ubayy b. Ka'b. He cut the vein and then cauterised it.بعث رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - إلى أبي بن كعب طبيبًا فقطع منه عرقًا ثم كواه عليه
Sahih Muslim 2207a
And it is established that when Sa'd ibn Mu'adh - may Allah be pleased with him - was struck by an arrow, the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - cauterized him with a thorn in his armpit.وما ثبت من أن سعد بن معاذ - رضي الله عنه - لما رُمي، كواه النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - بمشقص في أكحله
, and because al-Tirmidhi narrated from Anas - may Allah be pleased with him -
the Prophet cauterized As'ad b. Zurara because of a redness from which he sufferedأن النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - كوى أسعد بن زرارة من الشوكة
Mishkat al-Masabih 4534
, and he said: Good and unique, and because al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Ibn 'Abbas - may Allah be pleased with them both - that the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - said:
Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying: “There is a remedy in three things: the incision of a cupping-glass, a drink of honey, or cauterization by fire, but I forbid my people to cauterize.” Bukhari transmitted.it.الشفاء في ثلاث: في شربة عسل، أو شرطة محجم، أو كية بنار، وأنا أنهى أمتي عن الكـي
Mishkat al-Masabih 4516
And in another wording:
but I do not like to be (cauterized) branded.وما أحب أن أكتوي
Sahih al-Bukhari 5704
So his action and his informing - peace and blessings be upon him - that it is among the causes of healing indicates the permissibility of treatment with it when there is a need for it, and as for his prohibition of his Ummah from cauterization, it is to be understood as applying when the patient does not need it; because treatment is possible by other means, or that treatment with it is contrary to what is better and more preferable; because of the increased pain and the resemblance to Allah's tormenting the disobedient with fire, and for this reason the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - informed about himself that he does not like to be cauterized, and he praised those who do not cauterize themselves; because of their complete reliance upon Allah, and it should be done by an expert in the matters of cauterization, so that he cauterizes the one who needs this type of treatment in the appropriate
location on his body, and he considers the patient's circumstances and conditions. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
