Maggi Soup
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6337 )
Q4: There is in the markets a paste made from chicken meat called: Maggi Soup, which is boiled in water and made into a soup for food. Is it permissible to consume it when we do not know whether it contains forbidden fats or oils or not?
A4: This soup follows its original source from which it was taken in terms of permissibility and prohibition. So, if its source is known to be lawful, it is lawful. And if it is unknown, it is lawful. Likewise, if it is not known that it was mixed with a forbidden substance from fats or forbidden oils, it is lawful; because the original state is permissibility, and it does not change from that except by what necessitates prohibition. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
