Looking at the private parts of patients by nurses and doctors

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 17634 )
Q: Whatis the ruling on the exposure of patients' private parts by doctors and nurses for the purpose of treatment?Given that this sometimes goes as far as stripping them completely of their clothes, are there any guidelines for this matter?
A: It is obligatory for a person to guard his private parts, whether male or female; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Protect your 'Awrah except from your wife or what your right hand possesses.احفظ عورتك إلا من زوجتك أو ما ملكت يمينك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2769Hasan (Darussalam)
. It is forbidden for a person to look at the private parts of another except between spouses or in cases of dire necessity; such as a doctor, a nurse, or the like, and he should not look except to the extent of the need. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
