Dispensing medication by a pharmacist without a prescription

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 13295 )
Q: I work as a pharmacist, and I often dispense medications without a prescription, or dispense more than the quantity specified in the prescription to those who want an increase, especially when the patient is advanced in age and unable to return for further treatment. I inform you that these medications
are consumed and not a permanent stock. In addition, we have instructions not to dispense medication without a prescription. Is there any sin in this, what is the ruling, and what must I do regarding this action? Knowing that I am embarrassed before my colleagues and I feel compassion for the patients, especially the elderly, as I mentioned. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with the best reward.

A: It is not permissible for you to dispense any medications except what the doctor has specified for the patient. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
