The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 8864 )
Q 4: If a person commits many sins, transgressions, evil deeds, and major sins, and then repents to Allah with a sincere and wholehearted repentance, will he be held accountable or punished in the Fire on the Day of Resurrection? And the Qur'anic verse says: "The one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin."
A 4: If a servant repents from his sins and is sincere in his repentance, then Allah will accept it. Allah the Exalted said:[Az-Zumar 39:53] This verse is about those who repent, by the consensus of the scholars. As for your statement: "The Qur'anic verse... etc.," we inform you that it is not a verse from the Qur'an, but rather what is reported in the authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Therefore, it is obligatory for you to verify what you transmit from the Noble Qur'an and the Sunnah,
so that you do not attribute to Allah or to His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) anything other than the truth. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
