A: Smoking is forbidden; because it is a foul, disgusting thing to those with pure, sound souls and minds, and Allah the Exalted says:[Al-A'raf 7:157] the verse, and He the Exalted says: [Al-Ma'idah 5:4] and because it is intoxicating, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited, as narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud from Umm Salimah , every intoxicant and every intoxicating thing, and because its harm to health is medically established, and it is known that what is established to be harmful is forbidden to use; and because
spending in the situation described is considered a waste of money, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited the waste of money, as narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim - may Allah have mercy on them -Bulugh al-Maram 16:20 and the dislike here is a dislike of prohibition.
