The Ruling on Eating Qat
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 16097 )
Q3: What is the ruling on eating qat and leaving the 'Asr prayer in its time with the congregation and praying it half an hour before Maghrib?
A3: Eating qat is forbidden; because it is a distraction and a hindrance to the remembrance of Allah and to prayer, and it is not permissible to delay the prayer from its time or to leave the prayer with the congregation, and these are abominations resulting from eating qat, and all of them are forbidden, and for that reason eating qat became forbidden with a severe prohibition. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
