The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20602 )
Q 2: Is it true that juices and drinks that intoxicate a person are considered forbidden?
A 2: Permissible juice, when it ferments and becomes strong, becomes forbidden khamr (intoxicants); because khamr is that which covers the intellect, meaning: it covers it with intoxication from whatever it may be; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 3390Hasan (Darussalam) , and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1865Hasan (Darussalam) . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
