Negligence in leaving a little girl near the fire

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14558 )
Q: I have a daughter who is eleven months old. On that day, I was busy in the kitchen, and the little girl was with her sister, who is eight years old. There was a fire nearby, and the little girl fell into the fire. She spent eleven days in the hospital, and then the little girl died as a result of the fire. Some people tell me that you must fast, while others say no. Please advise us, may Allah reward you, and thank you. I was six meters away from the fire, so what is the ruling in this case?
A: You must pay the expiation for accidental killing, because you were negligent in leaving the little girl near the fire. The expiation is: freeing a believing slave. If you cannot find one, then fast for two consecutive months. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
