Q: If a man swears that every woman he marries is divorced, or that every woman he marries is such and such. We request that Your Eminence issue a ruling on this mentioned issue.
A: Conditioning divorce before marriage does not take effect according to the correct opinion of the scholars; for al-Tirmidhi narrated and graded it as good from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said:Sunan Ibn Majah 2048Hasan (Darussalam) And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
