Q: I have a wife from the city of Sabiya, named (B. M. A), and Satan, may the curse of Allah be upon him, has come between us, and I divorced her verbally three times, by saying to her: "Divorced, divorced, divorced," in one place, and I am taking my wife back in
that time and at that moment, knowing, O my master, that she is six months pregnant. I ask you to inform me of the solution to my problem.
A: If you intended by repeating the divorce three times ("divorced, divorced, divorced") to sever her immunity by divorcing her and ending the relationship between you, then she is divorced three times and is not lawful to you again until after another husband. If you intended by repeating the divorce to confirm the first instance with the second and third, or to make her understand, then she is divorced one time. If you take her back in this case immediately after your divorce of her, or after that before she gives birth, and you bear witness to that with two just witnesses, she remains your wife, and you have only two remaining divorces with her. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
