Q: I am a resident of the old city of al-Rayn , the land of Qahtan . I have a family consisting of several sons, daughters, and children. Allah has allowed one of my daughters who is with me to give birth to a small baby girl with a black complexion, which differs from the complexion of the entire family. I have no relatives whose complexion resembles that of this baby girl. Some of my relatives have rebuked me and urged me to abandon this baby girl, but her mother did not permit me to do so. I have developed some doubt regarding this baby girl. Will I be held accountable by Allah if I remain silent about this issue, or not? Please issue a ruling for us, may Allah reward you with a thousand good and health.
A: The presence of a baby girl with a black complexion that differs from your complexion and that of your family does not indicate that she is not your daughter. It is possible that this baby girl inherited her complexion from a lineage of your ancestors or your mother’s ancestors, or from the ancestors of her mother, whose complexion was black, and thus this baby girl came with that black complexion. So, dispel the
doubt in your mind that she is your daughter. Those who rebuked you and urged you to abandon her or harm her merely because her complexion differs from yours have done wrong. It is established from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: It was narrated by Ahmad and al-Bukhari and Muslim and the compilers of the Sunan. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

He said: Indeed, there are white ones among them. He said: "How did that come about?" He said: Perhaps it was inherited from a lineage. He said: "So this one may also have inherited it from a lineage." And he did not permit him to disown him.
جاء رجل من بني فزارة إلى رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فقال: ولدت امرأتي غلاما أسود، وهو بذلك يعرض بأن ينفيه، فقال رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم-: "هل لك من إبل؟" قال: نعم، قال: "فما لونها؟" قال: حمر، قال: "هل فيها من أورق؟" قال: إن فيها لورقا، قال: "فأنى أتاها ذلك؟" قال: عسى أن يكون نزعها عرق، قال: "فهذا عسى أن يكون نزعه عرق"، ولم يرخص له في الانتفاء منه
