Changing one's name to facilitate entry into a foreign country and attributing others' children to oneself

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 7186 )
Q: I inform Your Eminence that many people seek a ruling on the aforementioned question, so I see it appropriate to send that question to your service so that we may find a detailed answer, with Allah's permission. The British government has prohibited the entry of foreigners to reside in it, except for those who have a young son or daughter; they are permitted to enter because of the presence of their parents. Thus, some foreign Muslims resorted to deception
by changing lineages to make it easier for them to enter Britain and attributed others' children to themselves.
For example: a brother calls his brother his father, or an uncle calls his nephew his son, and so on, they distort lineages to facilitate entry and residence there. The question is: A- What is the ruling on changing in Islam? B- And for the one who entered by this means, is it permissible for him to remain there or must he leave, even after a period of time; because some people entered in the manner described years ago and bought houses and other things there. I hope Your Eminence will graciously answer this soon
.

A: It is not permissible to change lineages for the reasons mentioned; rather, it is forbidden and a major sin among the major sins, because it involves lying, falsehood, and changing lineages which the pure Shari'ah has commanded to be preserved. It is obligatory for the one who did any of what I mentioned to repent to Allah, and to immediately correct the name to match reality. He must leave the lands of the disbelievers to the lands of Islam, so that he can perform the Islamic rituals in their proper form, to increase the number of Muslims, and to cooperate with them in righteousness and piety, and to protect himself from trial.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
