His brothers wanted him to divorce his wife, so he said to them, "Welcome"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 632 )
Q: His brothers in Yemen wanted him to divorce his wife,
so he answered them by saying to them: "Welcome." Then one of the group came and asked him: "Did you divorce your wife?" He said to him: "Yes," out of fear that he was a messenger from them. He mentions that he had two men from his group testify that he was taking back his wife, if what came from him is considered a divorce, and he asks about that.

A: If the matter is as the questioner described, that one of his group asked him: "Did you divorce your wife?" and he said to him: "Yes" — then what came from him is considered a divorce; because of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Three things are serious in seriousness and joking in joking: divorce, freeing a slave, and taking back a wifeثلاث جدهن جد وهزلهن جد: الطلاق والعتاق والرجعة
Sunan ad-Daraqutni 15:112
And accordingly, if this divorce was not the third of three that he had pronounced on his wife, it is considered a revocable divorce, and he has the right to take back his divorced wife as long as she is in the waiting period. So if it is established that he took her back with the testimony of two just men, and she is still in the waiting period, and his divorce was not the third of three — then his taking her back is valid.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
