The first question of Fatwa No. ( 13703 )
Q 1: I havea pigeon. Should I let it fly and eat from the fields and rooftops, as is the custom of people, or should I keep it confined? And what if a wild pigeon comes with it?
A 1: It is obligatory for one who has any birds or the like to provide them with food, drink, and shelter. There is no harm in letting them roam wherever they wish after that. As for the wild pigeon, it is not permissible for you to keep it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
