Spending in Good Deeds

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Then the remaining acts of worship continue to be prescribed, and praise be to Allah, such as the ablution and the remembrance of Allah before and after it. Likewise, spending in the cause of Allah, whether it is charity given to others, or charity given to one’s family by spending on them, or on oneself. Indeed, if a person spends on himself, that is charity for which he is rewarded and for which he is given a reward. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas: “Know that you will not spend any expenditure seeking the Face of Allah but you will be rewarded for it, even what you put in your wife’s mouth.” He said: “Even what you put in your wife’s mouth.” Although spending on the wife is a matter of mutual assistance, because you spend on her in exchange for your enjoyment of her, and yet you are rewarded for it.

And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The one who supports a widow and the poor is like the one who fights in the cause of Allah.” The narrator said: Or I think he said: “Like the one who fasts and does not break his fast, and like the one who stands in prayer and does not rest.” The one who supports the widow and the poor is the one who takes charge of their custody, provides for their needs, guides them, and raises them. This includes even the poor children under your care, whether they are male or female, as well as sisters, wives, and others.
So the important thing is that the favor of Allah is vast, and praise be to Allah. The acts of worship are many. We ask Allah the Exalted to help us and you in His remembrance, His gratitude, and the excellence of His worship.
