A wife exposing herself before her mother’s husband

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14124 )
Q: My mother married a man and had many children with him. I am from the first husband, meaning my mother’s husband and my father, who passed away a short time ago. I was young at that time, and I grew up under his care, and he raised me with a good upbringing until I became a teacher in one of the mosques of Makkah under the supervision of a Qur’an memorization group. I am still in this position, and my wife is a righteous wife. He loves me more than his own children, and now I am the oldest of them in age. No disagreements have occurred between us. I hope that Allah, the Most High, the Almighty, will preserve him and prolong his life.
And my question is: Is it permissible for my wife to expose herself to my mother’s husband, and is it permissible for him to look at her? Even though he loves her like his daughters? And is it obligatory for me to call him "my father" or "my uncle"? Even though I have called him "my father" since I was a child. I ask you, your Excellency, to explain this to me in full detail so that my heart may be at ease. Please inform me, may Allah reward you, and I hope that Allah, the Most High, the Almighty, will preserve you, prolong your lives, and make you among the people of good and righteousness, hoping for Allah’s continued health, well-being, and happiness for you. And may Allah reward you with good.

A: It is not permissible for your wife to expose herself to your mother’s husband, because he is not one of her mahram (relatives one may not marry). As for your calling your mother’s husband "O my father," this is a matter of humility and honoring him in return for his upbringing of you, without claiming kinship with him, so there is no harm in that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
With the praise of Allah the Exalted, the seventeenth volume of the Fatwas of the Permanent Committee has been completed, and following it—by His permission, the Exalted—is the eighteenth volume, the first of which is: (The Book of Marriage).
