Ruling on a suitor relinquishing his fiancée to another man for marriage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6969 )
Q1: Is it permissible for me to offer my fiancée to my full brother so that he may marry her instead of me, as I have no desire to marry now, and she has reached the age of marriage?
A1: It is permissible for you to relinquish your engagement to him or to someone else. He may then marry her if she consents to him. However, if you have already concluded a marriage contract with her, it is not permissible for him to marry her unless you divorce her and her waiting period ('iddah) has expired, provided you have consummated the marriage and she consents to him as her husband, while observing all the other conditions of a valid Islamic marriage. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
