A woman is not a mahram for a woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first and second questions of Fatwa No. ( 7523 )
Q1: What is the distance a woman is permitted to travel without a mahram, and is a woman a mahram for a woman? Also, is the husband of a sister a mahram for his wife’s sister (in travel and otherwise)? Q2: A woman wants to perform Hajj and has money that enables her to do so, but she has no mahram. Will she be sinful if she does not go out for Hajj?
A1, 2: It is forbidden for a woman to travel without a mahram, absolutely, whether the distance is short or long. One of the conditions for the obligation of Hajj on a woman is the presence of a mahram. If she does not find a mahram, she is not sinful in delaying Hajj. A woman’s mahram is her husband or one who is permanently forbidden to her by lineage, marriage, or breastfeeding. Therefore, a woman is not a mahram for a woman, and her sister’s husband is not a mahram for her.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
