Announcing the marriage, even if only in the presence of witnesses

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 4790 )
Q: I wish to seek your esteemed opinion regardinga marriage contract that was concluded by offer and acceptance between the bride's guardian and the groom, in the presence of four male witnesses, and then the contract was announced to some people but not others. Does this count as an announcement of the marriage? And is the marriage contract valid or invalid?
A: If the situation is as you described, the contract is valid, and the witnessing that took place is considered an announcement, even if there were only two witnesses. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
