Is wearing the niqab a virtue or an obligation?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 9019 )
Q2: Is wearing the niqab a virtue or an obligation?
A2: It is obligatory for a woman to veil herself from those who are not her mahram (a relative one may not marry), and part of her veil is covering her face from those who are not her mahram. This is among the greatest gatherings of virtues, noble morals, modesty, protection of honor, and the purity of the environment from defilement and its safety from corruption.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
