Taking a sum of money from his father's aunt without her knowledge, then she passed away

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 12552 )
Q: I took a sum of money from my father's aunt without her knowledge, and I was about sixteen years old at the time, or perhaps more or less. The point is that I did not realize the severity of the prohibition of this act until some time later. After I went to her to return the money and ask for her forgiveness, I found that Allah had taken her. I am now confused about what to do with this money. Should
I give it in charity on her behalf to charitable organizations, or to channels of good? I wish to clear my conscience of this money. Is there an expiation required of me? I am deeply remorseful for this act after learning of its prohibition, as I mentioned. I hope for an answer.

A: It is obligatory for you to pay the aforementioned money to your aunt's heirs. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
