Q: I proposed marriage to a girl who was nineteen years old
years old, and both parties gave their consent and acceptance. We got married according to the Shari'ah of Allah and the Sunnah of Muhammad. After a period of our marriage, and up until now, it became clear that she was pregnant. She performed a self-abortion to expel the fetus, and I do not agree with that. After I prevented her from aborting, she asked me for an immediate divorce without any reasons or deficiencies in her rights, whereas prior medical procedures had confirmed that she was pregnant. Please note that she had been married before me and caused me problems during her marriage. She is from an Egyptian family, and since she is seeking material benefits which we were unable to provide, she is still trying to abort herself. I ask for your answer, and may you have abundant thanks.
