Q1: We have some customs, among which is: when a man marries off his daughter, he slaughters a sheep on the night of her wedding, and calls it the daughter's dinner?
A1: It is prescribed to hold a wedding feast on the occasion of marriage; to announce the marriage, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to one of his Companions who had married: And it is not permissible to be extravagant in the wedding feast; rather, it should be within the limits of what is sufficient for the invited guests. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
