Fatwa No. ( 10322 )
Q: I intend to get married and I want to marry, but I do not have the money that would enable me, even though I am a student in high school, and I want to enter university this year, and success is from Allah. Is it permissible for me to borrow money to get married with it? Knowing that, if Allah wills, I intend to repay the debt after graduating from university. Is this permissible?
A: There is no blame on one who intends to marry if he does not find the money, that he borrows a sum, or takes a loan through lawful means, if he intends to repay it.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
