Q: Some samples of adornment used by women are widespread in our markets, such as artificial nails, false eyelashes, and colored contact lenses, which are worn and placed on the fingers, eyelashes, and eyes to change the color of the eyes. Due to the many questions about them and their prevalence among women, we hope that you will present them to His Eminence the Father (may Allah preserve him) so that he may guide us with what he sees fit, and may Allah grant you success.
A: It is not permissible to use artificial nails, false eyelashes,
and colored contact lenses; because of the harm they cause to the parts of the body they are applied to, and also because of the deception and fraud involved in them, and the alteration of Allah’s creation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
