Adding a loan amount to a business

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 5998 )
Q: I hope you will inform me, may Allah reward you, about a sum I borrowed from one of the banks, amounting to eighty thousand riyals. The bank deducted what it called a commission or fees or the value of paper, meaning I did not receive this amount in full, whereas I repaid the bank in full. Then I put a portion of this amount into my business and I regretted this action greatly, and I wept, and Allah is a witness to that. I seek forgiveness from Allah the Great and repent to Him from every sin. I hope you will inform me, may Allah reward you, of the expiation for this deed I committed. I fear the anger of Allah upon me, and I also fear that my business, into which a portion of this money entered, will grow through haram (forbidden) means.
A: What occurred is dealing in riba (usury or interest), and it is one of the major sins. Its expiation is seeking forgiveness and sincere repentance, regret and remorse for what has passed, and the resolve not to return to such a thing. May Allah forgive what happened from you and pardon you.
