A Muslim does not inherit from a disbeliever

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 4149 )
Q: A family consisting of a father and a mother, who have eight children: four men and four women. They were all Christians, and three of the sons and one daughter converted to Islam. Their father passed away, leaving behind a large fortune estimated at approximately 18 million Saudi riyals. Do the sons who converted to Islam have the right to inherit from their father, who died as a disbeliever?
A: If the matter is as described, then the Muslim children whose father died while he was a disbeliever do not inherit. The basis for this is what was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim from Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A Muslim is not entitled to inherit from a non-Muslim, and a non-Muslim is not entitled to inherit from a Muslim.لا يرث المسلم الكافر، ولا يرث الكافر المسلم
Sahih Muslim 1614
.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
