The evidence is that the one who abandons prayer does not inherit.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Likewise, if the son who died left behind a father who does not pray and an uncle who does pray.
Who inherits from him?
The students: The uncle.

The Shaykh : His uncle. The evidence is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
A Muslim may not inherit from an infidel nor an infidel from a Muslim. لا يرث المسلم الكافر ولا الكافر المسلم
Sunan Abi Dawud 2909Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
And this hadith is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim, narrated by Usamah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him).
In fact, there is evidence in the Qur'an that points to this.
Noah (peace be upon him) said, calling upon his Lord:
My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true رب إن ابني من أهلي وإن وعدك الحق
[Hud 11:45]
, so Allah said to him:
indeed he is not of your family إنه ليس من أهلك
[Hud 11:46]
because he was a disbeliever.
These are eight, seven rulings.
