The freed slave woman who dies without having any heirs

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 5973 )
Q: My grandmother, the mother of my father Husayn ibn Wasil, owned a slave woman during her lifetime. She then freed her before her death, and then my grandmother passed away, leaving behind her son 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Wasil al-Subhi, her daughter Barakah Allah, and me, Wasil ibn Husayn.
Then my uncle 'Abd al-Rahman passed away, leaving behind two daughters. Then the slave woman passed away, leaving behind me, my sister (the daughter of my brother 'Abd al-Rahman), and my aunt Barakah Allah. She has no heirs other than those mentioned, no bequest, and no debt, and she left behind wealth. To whom does the wealth belong, given that I am the closest residuary heir to her?

A: If the matter is as described, the wealth left by the slave woman belongs to the closest residuary heirs who inherit in their own right. The residuary heir in his own right, according to the question, is Wasil ibn Husayn, so the wealth belongs to him alone. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
