Fatwa number ( 10750 )
Q: We performed 'Umrah in the blessed month of Ramadan this year, 1407 AH. We arrived at the Haram at the time of the 'Isha' prayer. What happened is that we lost one of our companions during the prayer—namely, the 'Isha' prayer—so we were occupied with searching for him until after the sun rose the next day. We found him after we had experienced, and he had experienced, extreme exhaustion. We left the Haram to my brother's house in Makkah , and we stayed there until after breaking the fast. We then descended to the Haram, where the women with us did not perform 'Umrah until the second night. As for us men, we had performed 'Umrah and exited the state of ihram from it while searching for the missing companion.
Is there anything required of us regarding our going to my brother's house in Makkah , and is there anything required of the women regarding their going up from the Haram to my brother's house in Makkah , and is there anything required of them regarding their taking a bath while they are in the state of ihram for 'Umrah, given that the period we spent outside the Haram was one day?
A: If the matter is as described, then there is nothing required of you or the women regarding going to your brother's house in Makkah al-Mukarramah , and staying there for a day before performing 'Umrah. Likewise, there is nothing required regarding taking a bath before performing 'Umrah for the sake of cleanliness or cooling off. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
