The Increase in Sadaqah from the Avenues of Righteousness and Good Deeds

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 3706 )
Q: I bought a house in Umm Salim and intended it as sadaqah, and I designated three sacrificial animals in it according to its construction and income. Since the previous construction was of mud, I am now considering demolishing the house and rebuilding it as apartments and shops, which would increase its income. Do I have the right to increase the number of sacrificial animals? I have two uncles in the Gulf who have passed away and are cut off from family, and I am the only one who remembers them. Also, I have maternal uncles who are elderly and have not earned a livelihood. Is it permissible for me to give them from the rent of this building? Likewise, my brothers from my father are orphans in the Gulf, so do I have the right to give them from the aforementioned rent? And my brothers from my mother, as well as the mosque’s guests in Ramadan? Please inform us in writing, and may Allah guide you, before I dispose of this house.
A: If the situation is as you described, it is permissible for you to increase the sadaqah with whatever you wish from acts of righteousness and avenues of good, such as sacrificial animals, maintaining ties with relatives, supporting neighbors, and helping the poor. We ask Allah for your success and good reward. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
