Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A person has a public land in a street where people pass by, and one of the companies wanted to appraise this land near the street and compensate him for it, so he wanted to ask: What is the best, O honorable Shaykh, to leave this public land for people to pass by, which is an expansion for the Muslims, or to give it to the company and take the appraisal and benefit from it in building a mosque or an Islamic library or charitable projects?

The Shaykh : What I see in answering this question is that he should present the matter to the judge in his country so that he can examine the document of the public land to see how its owner endowed it, and to see if there is a dire necessity or pressing need for it to remain or not, and to see if selling it to spend its price on a mosque or other interests of the Muslims is a stronger benefit or not? In any case, the reference for that is the judge.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
